Honeyman Developments: a journey of dedication and success

Since the inception of Honeyman Developments in 2020, the company had been driven by the expertise and dedication of founder and managing director Ashley Honeyman.

Built on a reputation of unwavering excellence and delivery of top-quality construction projects has led to business growth ahead of expectations.

An electrician by trade with over 20 years’ personal experience in the construction sector, Ashley has an impressive track record and a reputation for managing large-scale projects, with a portfolio spanning brands like Ocado, The Hut Group, and Amazon. 

Ashley has been headhunted to rescue numerous behind-schedule projects across the UK, often pulling together and deploying teams within days and successfully bringing construction projects back on schedule. 

In 2019 Ashley decided to take 6 months career break to travel around Australia, it was during this sabbatical he made the decision to create Honeyman Developments.

Ashley said “I was lying on the beach, having time to think and reflect on what I wanted out of life and I knew I wanted to build something for myself, I remember thinking ‘what have I got to lose?’”

Returning to the UK a week before COVID, the lockdown may have discouraged some, but Ashley embraced the opportunity to utilise the time to reengage with his network and create the foundations of the business, as a result, Honeyman Developments has defied expectations, experiencing remarkable growth.

The business community in Rochdale is one that holds a strong history of collaboration stemming from the birth of the cooperative movement in 1844.  The cooperative legacy remains strong throughout in the business community, with many companies in the area having an emphasis on the importance of a local supply chains and supporting and strengthening the Rochdale economy.

Ashley’s commitment to Rochdale is evident in his collaboration with Amanda Huntbach, Work and Skill Lead at Rochdale Borough Council, addressing the ongoing skills and recruitment challenges. With a focus on keeping jobs local, Honeyman Developments actively supports the Rochdale economy.

The company’s success is attributed to its dedication to simplifying processes, ensuring top-notch results, and maintaining strong client relationships. As a family-oriented business,  Honeyman Developments offer comprehensive construction for homes and businesses.

Looking ahead, Honeyman Developments is poised to make a significant impact in the hospitality and leisure sector, and are currently refurbishing the bedrooms at The Royal Toby, part of The Deckers Trading Group in Rochdale, a project that started in the new year.
