Tell me a bit about yourself.
Well, there’s nothing too exciting about me! But if I had to share something, I’d say I have a rubbish degree. Quite literally! I did the final year of my degree studying landfill sites, and went on to spend the first 10 years of my career working in waste collection and recycling.

What is your role with the RDA?
As a project manager my role involves working on a variety of projects that support the mission of the RDA. My most recent project has been managing a programme to identify opportunities to decarbonise an industrial estate. I focus on ensuring that things run smoothly and contribute to the overall success of our initiatives.

Why did you choose to work with the RDA?
I wanted to be part of something that makes a difference. I’ve always been drawn to roles where I can contribute to a bigger purpose, and the work we do here really aligns with that.

What projects do you work on?
A mix of things, really from major development sites through to low carbon initiatives. I work across different areas, helping to coordinate efforts and make sure we’re achieving our goals. Every project is unique, and that keeps things interesting.

What do you really enjoy about your profession?
The variety! No two days are the same, and I love being able to problem-solve and work with different people. It keeps me on my toes.

What makes you get up in the morning?
I enjoy the work I do, but if I’m honest, I think it’s also just the drive to keep learning and pushing forward. I like knowing that each day brings new challenges and opportunities.

Tell me something people don’t know about you.
Well, I was an army cadet when I was younger, and I got married on board HMS Warrior! I very briefly considered joining the Navy, following in my dad’s footsteps, but life took me in a different direction.
