Rochdale’s wonderful former fire station on Maclure Road, was the most technically advanced in the country when it opened in 1933. Now repurposed (since 2021) as the Fireground museum, the building retains many of its original features including the magnificent hose tower, engine house and art deco-inspired first-floor ballroom, now Fire Up Co-working Space.

You’ll have free entry to the museum between 10am - 4pm, along with guided tours of the building. Pre-booking is not necessary and there is a free car park and cafe onsite.
