Takeuchi plans to open the doors to a new global training centre at Kingsway Business Park
“The modern office space at Kingsway Business Park will provide an ideal location for our new global training centre.”
Takeuchi Mfg (UK) ltd, a leading construction equipment supplier has chosen to relocate to Kingsway Business Park in order to expand its business operations.
The company’s new facility provides an impressive 5,193 square metres of office space. Apart from growing in size, Takeuchi’s relocation from its present premises in Castleton is also expected to create new jobs in the Rochdale area.
The organisation supplies a range of mini excavators and loaders and currently employs around 30 members of staff, but there are also plans to build a new training centre at the Kingsway site to extend the team. The training centre will be used to train Takeuchi operators from Europe and further afield.
Laura Morgan, the Merchandise and Marketing Coordinator at Takeuchi, said the move has gone a lot more smoothly with the help of Rochdale Development Agency.
“We are very grateful for all the help and support we have been given from Rochdale Development Agency in securing this move. The Kingsway team has always been there to support any queries we might have and has also looked into providing funding for us. They have also put us in touch with a business development worker to help develop our business and make sure everything is working correctly.”
Takeuchi is best known for its extensive range of mini excavators, tracked loaders and hydraulic breakers, all designed for the tough demands of construction, plant hire, building, moving and ground engineering. Takeuchi machines are manufactured in Japan before being shipped across to the UK.
She continued: “There are so many benefits to relocating to the Kingsway site and one of the main ones is working and living in Rochdale itself, which is continuing to thrive. It is right next to all the major motorway links and it’s great to have so much more office space and to become the second company to move onto the Kingsway site. We were bursting at the seams before.
"I'm really looking forward to Phase 2 of the Kingsway project - I think it will look good when it's all finished. It's also a great opportunity to expand the team and use the skills that Rochdale already has on its doorstep. We already make the most of our local resources as most or our employees come from Rochdale or nearby areas."
