Vindon Scientific anticipates growth at Kingsway Business Park
“Kingsway Business Park is ideal for the pharmaceutical sector. We have a modern building within a fantastic skills catchment area.”
Vindon Healthcare, one of the UK’s lead suppliers in the pharmaceutical industry, has relocated to Kingsway Business Park in response to its rapid expansion and to extend its customer base.
This new storage and manufacturing facility will provide the platform for Vindon to pursue its strategy for growth, whilst also enabling it to continue to grow its existing client base.
Staffed by around 50 people, Vindon Healthcare has raised over £3 million to move into its new premises which have been fitted out to the company’s own demanding specification.
Vindon’s new headquarters boast 2,738 square metres of office and storage space, and includes a further 2,000 square metres of storage space on its purpose designed mezzanine floors, enabling the company to consolidate all of its UK operations into one site at Kingsway.
Although the company is already hailed as a leading supplier of controlled environmental testing chambers in the UK and Ireland, the move will vastly increase its manufacturing capability. In addition, Kingsway Business Park will accommodate a number of storage facilities including a high-tech laboratory for stem cell storage. The company already manufactures blood banks, storage chambers, fridges and freezers for its clients in the pharmaceutical, food and life science industries.
Patrick Jackson, the Managing Director of Vindon, says Rochdale is an excellent location for Vindon Healthcare due to its ready skills-base and close proximity to the motorway network.
“The Kingsway Business Park is a fantastic location for us as it’s right on the motorway link, next to the M62, and not too far from our old offices in Oldham – so our staff won’t have to travel very far,” said Mr Jackson.
“We were attracted to the design of the building which is ideal for the pharmaceutical sector. It’s a very striking, modern building, without being too ostentatious. It conjures up the sense of looking forward to the future, towards a modern age, which is exactly what we hoped for in our search for new office space. Rochdale offers a fantastic location, within a decent catchment area for recruitment. There are a lot of skills in the Rochdale area and because of the location, we could potentially also attract employees in from major cities such as Manchester and Leeds.”
Since the company was formed in Diggle, Oldham over 40 years ago, Vindon has progressed and now commands an annual turnover of more than £5 million which is growing at a rate of 15% - 20% every year. Vindon is now preparing itself for even more growth and anticipates expanding its workforce.
Mr Jackson added: “We are grateful for the support we’ve received from Rochdale Development Agency and North West Development Agency along the way. As a company, we’re continually looking forward and hoping to progress and I think our move to Kingsway and our modern new offices reflects this.” |
