Alan Richardson is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, gained by external examination following nine years of part time study at the Royal College of Advanced Technology Salford (now renamed Salford University ).
Alan commenced employment as an apprentice joiner with a small Rochdale building contractor following which he progressed into management, holding various posts with a number of national contractors culminating in the position of Divisional Director of Amec Project Management Division.
In 1983 Alan realised his ambition to run his own company and with his wife Patricia set up Richardson Projects Ltd.
The company initially had 5 employees and over a 25 year period they expanded the company employing over 350 staff.
The company specialises in the construction and maintenance of residential properties for housing associations and Local Authorities, together with speculative houses and commercial developments for sale.
In 2008 Alan and Pat decided to sell the company to have more leisure time.
Alan has previously held voluntary Directorship with Rochdale Housing Initiative , Bolton Community Houses and Construction Safety Services.
Being a lifelong resident of Rochdale, Alan is delighted to be able to assist with the regeneration of Rochdale .
