Heywood public realm improvements

Rochdale Development Agency has worked closely with Heywood Township and the local community in implementing a range of environmental improvements along the A58 Corridor through the town centre. The work has included tree planting, landscaping and the introduction of new and more attractive street furniture.

Duncan Cooper of the RDA said: “The improvements were aimed at supporting the economic vitality of Heywood town centre, particularly along the main high-street.

“The public realm works complement recent shop front improvements and this all helps to maintain Heywood’s status as a vibrant town with a functioning high-street at its heart.”

Funds were provided by Heywood NDC and Rochdale Council. Impact Partnership has overseen the on-site works and several contractors were used, including local company Ken Brogden Ltd.
