Work starts on Crown Business Park
Work is underway on the new multi-million pound Crown Business Park on the outskirts of Rochdale.
Situated close to junction 20 of the M62, the development will provide 260,000 sq ft of office and
industrial space.
The project is a joint venture between Centric Property Group and Barnfield Construction and the first phase, which will cost £9.2m, is set to be finished by summer 2011.
Speaking from the sod-turning ceremony, Paul Nolan from Nolan Redshaw said; “The size of Crown Business Park makes it perfect for attracting small to medium enterprise companies to the area, in particular those in the financial and business services sector, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
“It’s great to see work start onsite, the first phase will create over 15,000 sq ft of office space and once the second and third phases are complete the site could create up to 650 jobs.”
Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) worked closely with the developers to help them secure part of the funding for the scheme. John Hudson, Chief Executive of RDA, said, “This is another sign of positive investment in Rochdale. Developers are continuing to show confidence in the borough by building fantastic, high-quality business locations like this.” |
