Artists and Landscape Architects required for Public Art Feature in Middleton

To coincide with the exciting regeneration proposals for Middleton Town Centre, Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) is inviting experienced artists and landscape architects to submit their proposals for the design and installation of a public art feature.

It will be sited in a prominent location between the proposed Tesco car park and the pedestrianised section of Manchester New Road in Middleton Gardens. The brief is for the full design of a piece of public art and associated public realm works.

The budget for developing the design and installing on site is £100,000. The design competition will consist of two stages. Designers shortlisted after the first stage will be given a stipend of £500 to cover costs of travel/subsistence, materials and displays for public consultation.

For further details contact Martin Ledson, Rochdale Development Agency on 01706 837 411 or middleton.masterplan@investinrochdale.co.uk.

The deadline for submissions is 16th May 2008
